I was given a pair of copper inserts by a friend to see if they would help with pain associated with my osteoarthritis.

I had already had two successful hip replacements over the last two years but was now suffering with knee pain.

I had been wearing the copper inserts for about 3 weeks in my trainers, when we had the first heavy snow fall of the year.

Over the past few years I have been getting pains in my toes. This began as an intermittent pain but had become a daily occurrence and extremely painful (I can only describe it as my toes being held in a vice!!)

I have suffered with psoriatic arthritis for two years. Initially I was in pain throughout my entire body to the extent that I couldn’t walk; get in the bath or even go to the toilet unaided. It was horrendous. I have three children, the youngest being two years old now, and not being able to pick him up or cuddle him was heartbreaking.

The pain affected me mostly in the spring but we have our own garden design business so I couldn’t take time off. This meant that my husband had to help look after me instead of being able to work at our busiest time of year. This had a knock-on effect of increasing financial stress – in turn the stress provokes the inflammation!

I went to my doctor, who prescribed a chemo-therapy drug which I didn’t want to take due to its recent appearance on the market place and possible side-effects, as well as the need to have weekly blood tests. Instead I took opium-based pain killers and anti-inflammatory drugs. Although these helped to a certain degree, I was still in a lot of pain for about six months.

Having refused the medication suggested by the rheumatologists and doctors, it was up to me to find a solution that I could live with. I read a lot about various diets and eventually followed a combination of the Kousmine and Seignalet diets a strict diet which eliminated wheat, dairy, alcohol and caffeine. I had to supplement my diet quite heavily to ensure I was not missing out any essential food elements at this point with omega 3, probiotics and a combination of colza, olive and nut oils. I was still taking the ani-inflammatories, but was able to lower the strength. I also replaced the opium based pain killers with paracetamol, and after 4 months I started to feel better.

I was worried though, as I was still taking anti-inflammatories and paracetamol on a daily basis, as the pain was still significant in my fingers, knees and feet.

I then heard about a copper insole called the Original Copper Heeler through my mother-in-law (who also uses them) and decided to give it a try.

After 20 years of walking in the Lake District, I was slowly coming to the conclusion my walking days were coming to an end due to Arthritis in my knees.

Seven years ago I injured my back and fell on my coxis which in turn led to Arthritis of the spine.

I have been playing football on a regular basis for nearly forty years. A couple of months ago I noticed that after playing I was experiencing considerable pains in the joints of my right knee and each time I played the pain got worse and took longer and longer to ease off. In late 2006 my GP diagnosed me as having an arthritic hip which was giving me difficult leg pains. Owing to my age – 89 years and my previous medical history he advised me not to have a hip replacement but to control the situation with pain killers – paracetamol tablets.

In March 2007 I saw your advertisement for copper heels, and as I had been taking up to 6 paracetamol tablets a day I decided to try this non medicinal treatment. I have osteoarthritis in both my hands and my feet. My right foot began to bother me about two years ago and I was beginning to limp even when walking a short distance. I have hip and back problems and I was a little sceptical whether Copper Heelers would give me any relief from the pain, but after about two months I have been amazed and delighted that I suffer very little pain they really are wonderful.

I have bad arthritis in my left foot and had been taking pain killers for many months to relieve the pain but I saw the Original Copper Heelers advertised in the Melbourne Sunday Sun and thought I would order a pair just to try.
A couple of weeks after using the heelers I stopped taking the pain killers and haven't used that medication since.
I would recommend to anyone that they try them as I have done and I hope they can get the same relief that I have experienced.

I’ve had problems with a painful ankle since Christmas 2006. This pain at times progressed to my knee and the net result of both was a substantial limp and a limit to my walking ability.

By February 2007, with no improvement, I visited my GP who advised patience and painkillers. Allowing for the temporary respite due to painkillers nothing changed and with a holiday in Madeira looming I was quite concerned.

I have had Arthritis in my right knee for approx. 4½ years, very painful, I could hardly drive to work in the mornings, my job was driving a crane, so I had to give up work at 64 years of age.

I was encouraged to give "copper heelers" a fair try, despite my early doubts.

The first result was that after 3 days morning stiffness in ankle and knee joints had completely gone. I no longer took time to "get going" when I woke up.
